¡Hola! I'm Margarita and I live in sunny Colombia. I'm a Lawyer, university lecturer, freelance translator and of course a Spanish tutor here at Verbling. I'm comfortable and have all the skills to teach beginners to more advanced students. my method for tutoring Spanish focuses on understanding the culture and the context, as I consider a language to be better understood within its environment. I use a student centered teaching approach as I feel that one of my greatest strengths is my ability to understand and meet the needs of each individual student. As any language and especially with Spanish, there is nothing better than getting the student to build their confidence in speaking and practice his/her knowledge on a continuous basis combined with essential grammar lessons. Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask ;) Spanish assignments, Business Spanish, Conversational Spanish, Grammar, Exams,

Hola! Soy Ximena. Hello! I'm Ximena and I have a relaxed, conversational style of teaching. I was born in Colombia but raised in the United States for 7 years, so I'm native in both languages. I have a degree in Hispanic-American Literature and experience teaching the culture and language in Colombia to travelers and expats in Medellín, so I'd love to continue doing that for people who are planning on traveling to Latin America. I have experience teaching both Spanish and English to children and translating both English-Spanish and Spanish-English. The advantage of having me as a teacher is that I can explain a lot of things in English, and teach a lot about Latin American (specifically Colombian) culture.
Do you want to improve your Spanish speaking skills? Do you need to have a better comprehension ability? I am a native Spanish teacher with over 3 years of experience teaching Spanish online and offline. I am also a certified DELE examiner by Instituto Cervantes with experience in over 6 official exams in levels A1, A2, B1 and B2. I have a hands-on approach to language learning, focusing on communication as much as possible. Also, I try to choose topics that that appeal to you in order to inspire you and make you use Spanish in a more natural way. Thus, I like to use real material (videos, articles, emails, etc.) adapted to your level. I have experience teaching students from many different backgrounds and levels, from zero beginners to near fluent speakers. Seeing my students becoming confident in their language skills is one of the best feelings in the world. I hope you become one of them very soon.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and hold three Master's degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Alcalá de Henares University in Madrid. I have over ten years of experience in teaching Spanish to foreign students of various ages, nationalities and backgrounds at the International Languages School "Enforex" in Madrid. Since 2015, I impart Spanish classes to the staff in the United Nations World Tourism Organization in Madrid. I work with a communicative method which includes the teaching of grammar, speaking, writing, reading, listening comprehension as well as instruction in Spanish culture. In both my group and private classes, I encourage the exclusive use of Spanish, but if the student feels shy or stuck, I can use as much English as needed to make you feel more comfortable to advance, especially at the beginning. As I have taught students from various backgrounds –Chinese, English, Japanese, American, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Turkish-- I can help you with the most common pitfalls in vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. As a Cervantes Institute accredited trainer, I also teach courses at all levels to prepare students for the Spanish as a Foreign Language diploma administered by the Instituto Cervantes (DELE). I have also administered the DELE exam myself on multiple occasions, so I can help you achieve this goal. I offer my students multiple resources such as textbooks, exercises, videos, guided conversation, games, compositions, suggested readings, films, and TV series. I do a quick test to find out each student's level at the start and then test for each level completed. I do believe, however, that each student knows best what his/her needs are; I can, therefore, tailor the lesson to the goals of the student in order to make the learning experience as fruitful and productive as possible. I will also guide each students to many useful on-line resources for self-study. I consider learning (and teaching) Spanish as a great chance to have a good time! Personally, I cannot conceive learning a new language without enjoying it, having a good time. I always do my best for the students to get the maximum benefit from each lesson as well as to have a fun experience while accomplishing their goal.
