Journalist, Pilot ✈ Traveler I'm from Bogota, Colombia (South America), I'm 28 years old. I'm a Commercial Pilot and a Journalist. I love teaching and sharing my love for foreign languages and cultures with others. My native language is Spanish but I started learning French when I was 7, English when I was 8 and Italian when I was 13 years old, so I've been there, I know what it feels to be a student and I know the path from not knowing a single word to become bilingual... Welcome to this beautiful experience, I'm pretty sure we're going to have fun while learning. Learning a foreign language is not as difficult as people usually say, trust me. It only takes practice, patience, confidence, and compromise to get to learn, write and speak well... I've been a teacher and a tutor for 10 years now and, during this time, I've concluded that having a great time is the best way to learn. So, be prepared to share your interests and practice while talking about different topics, especially those you care about. I've noticed at the beginning that students are usually shy when it comes to speaking, but they eventually end up gaining confidence that's why I always encourage them to talk and make mistakes so I can correct them. On top of that, as I stated before, I want my students to have a great time while they're learning so I like them to propose the topics we're going to talk about during the lesson. When they are at a basic level I like to make them feel comfortable and go with their flow so they never feel pushed to learn fast. Also, I like to give them the tools to be able to practice by themselves... I want to prepare my students to face real life situations when they travel. You know, learning a foreign language is getting to know and experience a brand new culture... It's like a whole new universe opening in front of us...
¡Hola! Soy Verónica de León, Guanajuato, México, ya puedes ver mis videos de prueba en mi perfil, ¡estoy segura que te gustarán! I understand the problem when you want to learn a language, I´d like to share with you some advice: -Don't be shy! To learn a language you need to speak, trying and trying, over and over. With the practice, you will become an expert. -Don't compare yourself with a friend or a partner, maybe he or she is more advance than you. You don't need to compete with others, just with yourself. -Keep going for your goals, keep the motivation, you need an objective which works as motivation. No te preocupes si eres principiante, yo he pasado por lo mismo y te voy a entender. Pero recuerda, de nada sirve ser tímido, no seas tímido, un idioma se aprende por repetición… Así que a hablar Español… :) ¡¡I will be happy to help you!!
Hi everyone! Mi name is Maria Mercedes Morales Campo. I'm from Caracas, Venezuela. I teach Spanish and Portuguese in a Cultural Institution at Caracas. I have been doing it during two years and I have had an excellent experience with my students. I'm studying a Master Degree on Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and I also work as a translator. I love languages, I speak Spanish,Portuguese, English, French and I am studying Russian and Italian. My connection with languages let me have a great perception about my student's feelings in his approach to a new language, this is why I always focus my class on his needs. During the class I explain grammar and practice it with cool exercises. I use videos, music and lectures to improve the interaction between the student and the language. I also work with documents (doc., PDF, etc.), so the student could have different options.
Hi! My name is Maria Del Mar… 100% Colombiana, (you can tell I’m latina because my name has more than one word!) and do not worry I know language learning is hard enough, so you can call me Maria for short! . I was born in a small city you have probably never heard of, Mocoa, Colombia, but now reside in Medellin, the Colombian city that EVERYONE has heard of. . During the past five years I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Spanish to over 250 students, from beginners to the most advanced and I’ve given individual classes to high ranking business and government executives. . Throughout my years of teaching, I’ve noticed similarities and challenges between students: . The number 1 struggle with language learning is anxiety. I do know how difficult it can be learning a new language. I’m sure you’ve heard others, or maybe even told yourself that “Language learning is not for me.”, but chances are you can speak at least ONE language, (unless you were born in the jungle, but even then I’m sure you learned how to talk with the animals. It gets lonely in the jungle.) . Anyways, the point is you’ve already MASTERED one language, your native language, as a BABY… a time when you weren’t even smart enough to tie your shoelaces, go to the bathroom or even make a burrito. The most important thing is to make learning fun, because that makes you learn faster, and keeps you feeling motivated. . The number 2 struggle is lack of consistency. So, when you go ahead and schedule a lesson with me, the first thing we will do is have a friendly chat to design the structured program based on your current strengths and weaknesses as well as your individual learning style and personal goals. . Maybe you’re planning a trip to Colombia, or some other Spanish speaking country, or you have a new latin boyfriend or girlfriend or you’d just like adaptability in your own country. . If you’re doing online language classes, it means you likely do not have a lot of time to go and find a local teacher and sit in traffic for 30 minutes to meet over coffee, so I’m going to help you use your time efficiently as possible to reach your goals. I design my lesson packages competitively to offer MORE than just 30 minutes or an hour of chatting. My classes include a written follow up attacking your strengths and weaknesses and an action plan to get you started. . Everyone is different, so it’s really important that I put a plan together customized for you. . I love helping people to master native language fast, so they, like me, can enjoy the many benefits of being a Spanish speaker! . I wish you well on your language journey and I look forward to chatting with you soon… in Spanish! :) . Maria Del Mar
