My name is Jeremy, and I am a language tutor from Long Island. I have a 100 hour TEFL certification from Oxford Seminars. I have a huge passion for language learning and I understand the difficulties that once can face when learning a new language, and I can help you overcome them! I am a very patient and understanding person, so don't worry about making mistakes during the lessons! CONVERSATIONAL CLASSES: My conversation classes are focused on INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED conversation in English. We pick a topic that interests you, we talk about it, and we will cover the grammar and vocabulary about that topic. This helps you feel comfortable talking about ANY topic you want. At the end of the lesson, we will review what we learned during the lesson, and I will let you know about any mistakes you made, and how to correct them. This includes some grammar review and accent reduction/pronunciation help. GENERAL CLASSES: These classes are open to ALL levels and include guided classes, following exercises from books that I will give to you. I teach you something new, we review it together, we do guided exercises, then you do exercises on your own and I correct any mistakes and help you understand how to fix them. This includes reading, writing, speaking and listening practice. CUSTOMIZED CLASSES: Need help preparing for an interview, correcting your homework, preparing for a test, or correcting your pronunciation? In these classes, we can cover WHATEVER YOU WANT. They are made specifically for your needs. Just send me a message and I can help you with anything you need. NOTE: MY SCHEDULE IS FLEXIBLE. Contact me!

My name is Mary and I have been teaching ESL for 7 years. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Ohio University (USA) in 2013 with a minor in Linguistics and a TEFL Certification. I then worked for a non-profit organization, Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services, teaching English to refugees from all over the world. After this position, I traveled to Cuenca, Ecuador and taught for a non-profit organization, CEDEI, for a year and a half. Both job experiences I had in this field prior did not have a lot of opportunities for technology in the classroom but when I can I like to include articles, videos, speeches, use of Microsoft word in the classroom. I have now been teaching online for four years. I am very excited to continue teaching online to open up the possibilities to have a multi-media classroom. I also think that speaking and listening are the key to fluency and like to put a strong emphasis on speaking practice: debates, conversations, and presentations. I also have experience with teaching paragraph structure, essay structure, and different styles of essays. I have taught grammar at all levels, also. I try to keep classes interesting with a mixture of activities and with minimal stress but well-rounded knowledge of the language. I truly hope you'll take a look at my schedule and consider a trial lesson in which we can discuss your goals and a learning plan. My policy for missed lessons: I will wait 10 minutes for a student to arrive. If it is the first (or second for regular students) missed class and the student messages me with a reason, I will unschedule the lesson so that the student can reschedule. If this happens more than once or twice I will keep the payment for the wait time and preparation. I understand things happen, so I will forgive, once or twice of course, but I also prepare for the lessons and this is my full time job.
