My name is Keelah Rose, and I'm an American teacher who grew up in California. I graduated from Cornell University (an Ivy League school) and received my teaching credential in 2006. I have been a certified teacher ever since! I have lived and worked as a classroom teacher for children and teens, and an adult business English teacher in countries such as China, South Korea, Albania and Poland. I have a very easily understood accent with no traces of any regional dialect. I also have a background in performance, comedy and presentation -- so these are skills I can easily help you develop. I specialize in improving pronunciation with a lot of useful tips and tricks to sound more like a native speaker. My classes are fun and enjoyable and I love to bond with my students. However, I am also a perfectionist because I want my students to be the absolute best they can be. If you are looking to absolutely perfect your English skills and really improve your skills rapidly, then I am the teacher for you!

Hello! I am the right teacher for intermediate and advanced adult students of English who appreciate a prepared and organized but still fun and relaxed approach to their language-learning process. Do you need someone knowledgeable about language and the learning process? I am that teacher. I have a Master's degree in English, certifications to teach from several states in the U.S., and decades of experience teaching. I scored in the 98th percentile on the GRE in verbal reasoning and have learned foreign languages myself, so I know how you feel and the challenges you face. As a linguist, I can help you perfect your conversation. I am a grammar and style wizard, so if you need someone to help you with compositions, presentations, or dissertations, I am the person for you. If you are a person who enjoys creative writing, you will be happy to know that I have had short stories and poetry published in online magazines and my young-adult novel "Backbiters" was released this summer (you can see it on Amazon!). In other words, I can help you polish your creative pieces. I have taught ages 13 to 70+. I have taught face-to-face and online. Besides my native language of English, I speak Spanish and some French and Japanese. I dabble in Italian also. Regardless of your native language, I am willing to learn about it, so I can best help you learn English. Learning a language takes time and effort, but I can make it as fun and efficient as possible for you, using dedication, compassion, and effective pedagogy. When I am not teaching, I have many interests. I read. I write. I love theater, art, and blues music. I swim, kayak, bike, run, and do yoga. I have to be active because I love to go to ethnic restaurants and cook ethnic food –- of course traveling to other countries to experience new cultures is the best! I also have an addiction to documentaries of all sorts because life is so interesting and a guilty pleasure of watching talent T.V. auditions. :) Whatever your interests, needs, and goals, I can help you reach them by assisting you to learn accurate, useful, and beautiful English. Let’s start now!

Hello Friend! I hope you're having a great day! My name is Brent and I am from Santa Rosa, California. My hometown is in the California wine country, a beautiful place with outstanding weather. I have lived in Japan for thirteen years. I lived in Osaka for one year and then moved to Tokyo. I came to Japan because I am a poet and I love haiku. Japan is a wonderful country that has changed me in many positive ways. And the sushi...wow. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature/Poetry with a Minor in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. My interests include haiku, hiking, comedy, studying Japanese, reading, food, traveling, baseball, and music. I am a very curious person and I enjoy learning about others' hobbies and interests. As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges involved with learning languages, which helps me address student concerns and needs in a constructive way. I teach all kinds of English, including general conversation, business English, TOEIC, TOEFL, Eiken, and kids lessons. I teach a wide range of ages, from two months old to eighty years old. Let me customize English lessons for you. We can use any books, newspapers, movies, songs, or other learning materials you like. I can also create original materials just for you! I love my students' English. There is no bad English. No one has bad English. If you can say "Hello.", that's great. If you can say "Nice to meet you.", that's great. The key is to own your English because it's yours! It's all about enjoying studying and getting better every day. One of my favorite haiku poets is Kobayashi Issa and this is one of his best poems. 蝸牛そろそろ登れ富士の山
Katatsumuri sorosoro nobore Fuji no yama Climb Mount Fuji, O snail, but slowly, slowly. This haiku has many meanings but one of my favorites is that Issa is telling even a snail, which is very slow, to slow down and enjoy climbing Fuji. It's the same with learning. Learning a language is like climbing Mt. Fuji. It's challenging and it takes time. Of course we want to improve every day but we have to make sure we look around and really enjoy the beautiful scenery, we should enjoy the new language we learn. Being a poet, I like to share my love of language with students so that they can experience more fully the joys of studying English. I am a people person and I use humor and a student-oriented approach to create a fun, comfortable learning environment. Your goals are my goals. I hope to meet you soon!

She taught English to Spanish speakers at Native Tongue English Institute in Colombia from January 2014 through December 2014. Rebecca speaks with a clear, comprehensible New York accent ( a North American "TV accent" ). She corrects all of your mistakes. Each student receives a personalized document with corrections, vocabulary, pronunciation list, phrase list and more from class. Which student are you? ~Some students have specific projects to work on with me, like practicing a presentation, studying for a test, preparing for an interview, reading and speaking about a medical or legal topic to enhance professional capability, applying for college (university), or help with college (university) essays, reading, and homework. ~Some students just need conversation experience with a native speaker full of new vocabulary, phrases, and grammar lessons, and casual, fun homework assignments. ~Some students prefer a structured series of grammar lessons with homework. Can't wait to meet you, Rebecca

Idris, Turkey: Steve is very communicative and corrects your mistake on time so that you get a chance to pronounce the words/sentences again in their correct form. At the end of each lesson he sends a report for that specific lesson. I also find it very helpful for my improvement. Pavel, Turkey: Thanks, Steve! I liked this so much. Steve structures the lesson perfectly, we worked through Economist articles and I've got a number of advanced vocabulary for today. The lesson was a joy, and I definitely recommend Steve as a teacher. Alejandra, Spain: He is a very good teacher; a very nice and enthusiastic person. He focuses on learning so that you can take advantage of the class as much as possible. He has been also very accurate in the material we have used in class to prepare a specific exam. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
