I had always been fascinated with foreign languages and convinced my parents to let me live in Spain in high school. It was through learning Spanish that I really came to understand the English language.
I later spent more time abroad while in University where I majored in Acting -- Theatre Performance and took a number of classes in English literature. Upon graduation, I decided to take my acting experience into the classroom and became a teacher. I received my TEFL from Peking University and spent the next two years in China. I taught at a high school then a private language center and assisted the American Chamber of Commerce in publications. I also spent a considerable amount of time studying Mandarin and passed the HSK 4 which certifies upper-intermediate level fluency.
I had always had a passion for boxing and trained periodically in Thailand. Wanting to be closer to the sport, I moved to Thailand where I worked as a language instructor for the Royal Thai Navy and started boxing professionally. I also studied the Thai language and became certified through Chulalongkorn University as an intermediate-level speaker.
I am currently living back in Thailand and working for a boxing gym developing content -- boxing training tutorials and articles about the culture, life and fighting in Thailand. I will also be teaching online to students of English with focus on correct pronunciation, language mechanics, common speech and slang, writing and American culture. I try to find topics of interest for my students to discuss -- then find opportunities to learn and improve their language skills. I want you to speak with confidence as we speak in America. I am very detail-oriented and genuinely care about providing a good service with good instruction.
