My name is Nico and I'm American. Please see my resume for the specific details of my qualifications and experience as a TEFL teacher. I have a lot of experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults, most of whom went on to take CEFR exams (whether British Institutes, IELTS, or Cambridge).
Because of this experience, and also the experience of running my own school, I have a good sense of how fast students can develop their language skills and how to keep moving forward in the process of language learning. For me, it is essential that students are well-rounded, which means they need to work on the various parts of a language – reading, listening, speaking, pronunciation, writing, and grammar. Unfortunately, a lot of students focus on one or two of these areas at school, leaving gaps in their education.
It’s important to have lessons completely in English, but it does help reduce a student’s stress level at times if they are completely stuck and can revert back to their original language. In these cases, I speak Italian, if it’s of any additional help. Furthermore, knowing the common Italian mistakes often helps with Spanish and French students because at times the vocabulary and grammatical structures are similar.
*Please note that I do not do two-hour lessons.
