My name is Muhammad and I am native Urdu speaker form Indonesia (came from Pakistan). I have been teaching Urdu language online since 2015. Let's talk about my teaching method. There are two way to teach Urdu language. 1. Using Latin Alphabets, 2. Arabic Script . I used both depending on my student's native language. Usually Latin Alphabets (Latin Alphabets like we write in English or like you reading these line) are useful for English speaker and Arabic Script is more useful for Arabic Speakers.
How I teach to a new Student? I start with basic rules and grammar because I believe (on behalf of my 3 years experience) that to teach only specific phrases are not useful to learn Urdu language but it's waste of time. Therefore, I start teaching by using basic and simple grammar rules which make my students able to start Urdu speaking in less then 2 months.
Let me tell you how I support my student after every lesson, I give complete notes so that students can revise their lesson at home after lesson hour. I also give them homework according to students learning style and their ability and requirements. Not only this, I also support my students with voice lesson so that they can improve their pronunciation and listing power in their own time.
If a student (as my maximum student) want to learn only conversational Urdu. If so, you no need to worry about Urdu writing / reading because I use Latin Alphabets to make it easy to understand for English / Non-Arabic speakers.
