My name is Mark Sullivan and I have taught English for over 10 years, including abroad in El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Morocco, as well as across the United States. I first started teaching English as a Peace Corps Volunteer in El Salvador in 2005. After this experience, I went on to earn my Master's in TESOL, and after, I've held a variety of positions as a teacher, teacher trainer, curriculum developer, and administrator. I speak Spanish fluently, a little. French, and also some Arabic.
I believe that it's important to make you, my student, comfortable, and then keep you engaged by including a variety of fun activities to help improve your English skills. I like to include fun warm up games , and am able to teach a variety of language skills, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or just general speaking fluency. I also believe it's important for you, as an English learner, to understand when you make errors, whether in speaking or writing, so I will provide feedback to you that is simple and clear.
I currently live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and enjoy biking, hiking, the outdoors, watching soccer (especially the English Premier League), and reading newspapers and books.
I look forward to the opportunity to teach you on Verbling!
