Speak From Day 1| Get on the Fast Track Towards Fluency|Personalized Approach to Suit Your Needs|Learn With a Polyglot Fully Bilingual in Both English and Korean|Patient and Friendly|Develop strategies and language hacking tactics for practical and effective language learning

Hello!
My name is Han. I've been teaching English and Korean for 3 years.

Here's the summary of what you can expect:
- Practical approach to learning with purpose
- Speaking from day 1 even if you're a total beginner
- Instant correction and feedback
- Unlimited off-hours support between your lessons
- Strategies and tactics for an effective language study
- Preparation for a job interview

I. My background with foreign languages

Learning foreign languages has been a lifelong pursuit and passion.
Over the years I have spent thousands of hours in learning and practicing different languages including English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. I can speak and write in all these languages to varying degrees but I'm fully bilingual in English and Korean and well on my way to being fluent in French.

I've had my fair share of disappointments, embarrassments, frustrations and lack of progress. But along the path to being a polyglot it has given me an insight into how to go about learning a new language much more effectively without fussing over all the little details of a language.

You see, you don't have to become an expert in grammar or verb conjugations or always know the right words for nearly all situations in order to be fluent in a language. Even in our own native language, we might not be that perfect.

Yes, we do need to study grammar, verb conjugations and know appropriate words in order to communicate but too many people get stuck in perfectionism which can be a source of great frustration and underachievement.

So, pause for a moment ask yourself what you really want out of a language learning?
1.Is it to become an expert in grammar in your target language? or
2.Is it to become fluent in a language so you can reap all the benefits that come with it?

II. Teaching Approach

In my honest opinion, traditional language teaching has been mediocre at best for giving a good result towards students' overall ability to communicate in their target language.

It also vastly ignores individuality and doesn't prepare students to be independent at learning on their own once they have reached a certain level.

Speaking and writing should be your main focus. Yes, in order to speak you need to understand by listening and in order to write you need to be able to read. So really the ultimate goal is to become good at these two.

Even if you're a beginner I encourage you to start speaking from day 1.

My lessons can be used for either:
1.Learning the basics of a language (words, grammar, vocabulary
2.A time and a place for practicing what you have learned with instant feedback and corrections.

My focus varies depending on the level of my students:

1.Beginners to Early Intermediate

There's enough resource on the web for learning Hangul and it's relatively easy to master. Give yourself a week to get to know it and familiarize with it. You really don't have to pay someone to teach you how to read "Hangul". That’s the minimum requirement I ask of you.

- Expressions (learning how to express yourself in the most common situations)
- Verbs, words
- Basic grammar
- Discussion of habits and tools to help you progress
- (optional) Homework

* It's important to start learning grammar at the same time. Every language is different. The rules and logic that are found in one language might not apply to another. It's important to focus on grammar it shouldn't be your goal. Remember that your goal is to be fluent and assimilating grammar is just a part of it.

Nevertheless, grammar gives you a solid framework for your overall proficiency and it can also be a solution for a lot of barriers that many beginning to intermediate students are facing.

2.Intermediate to Advanced (Good understanding of Korean grammar, verb conjugation, vocabulary, pronunciation):

- Reaching confidence and accuracy in conversation
- Advanced vocabulary
- (optional) Proficiency exam preparation
- News article and discussion

3.(Optional) Learning from K-Pop songs.

- Analyzing the lyrics
- Explaining slang
- Discussing cultural aspects

*Please note that if a student is absent for a lesson, there will be no refund. For each lesson, it takes preparation on my part and I value my time very much. Should you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please inform me at least 24 hours in advance. Thank you!

*Also please ensure a good internet connection as well as your microphone set up to project a clear audio quality.

Thank you and I'm looking forward to working with you!!
