My name is Steven and I am a 34 year teacher. I am a native English speaker from the UK. I have lived in the USA and Canada but in the summer of 2019 I moved to Switzerland.
I have over twelve years worth of experience in education from teaching at primary school level through to adult learning. This has given me a sound understanding of how people learn when at different stages of their learning journey. Having graduated from university with a bachelors degree in Sport and Exercise Science, I then went to the USA and Canada to coach soccer with children as young as three years old to adult level. When I returned to England, I began working in education. I worked with every age group from reception (4-5 year olds) to year 6 (10-11 years old).
As I mentioned earlier, I have recently moved to Switzerland where I have begun learning German. It is the first language that I have begun to learn since high school, so I know the hardships of learning a new language from the level of a beginner.
As a teacher, I like to employ a variety of teaching styles to compliment the goals and learning needs of the student. This can range from general conversation, where we may discuss current events or interests, to focussing more on grammar and sentence structure.
