À propos de moi

Hi, my name is Myeonghoon

I believe novel and meaningful experience is what enriches life. My life, prior to being able to communicate in another language and thus get to know others from different cultures than my own, was void of pep. Then I set out to learn English as my second language, with which I experienced the world anew. The paradigm shift by exploring the uncharted cultural territory where new and worthwhile experiences are waiting to be found was, still is, so liberating and exhilarating that I would love to gift you with such experience knowledge in the Korean language offers. I invite you to find out a unique set of values and beliefs Koreans cherish.

I’m very passionate about guiding my students to the right direction so that they can gain insights into not only the language but also Korean culture whose worth can be only truly appreciated with a good command of Korean.

If you’re completely new to the Korean language, I’ll show you proper ways to produce its distinctive sounds. That is to say, you’ll train your ear to recognise them and connect what you hear to written letters. Once you get the hang of Hangul, the Korean alphabet, you’ll acquaint yourself with the nitty-gritty details of pronunciation rules to help you speak with clarity.
After you learn to read Hangul, the focus will shift onto learning to communicate while picking up grammar and vocabulary, both of which will be internalised through both the practice of applying knowledge to verbal sentences and the use of Anki, a program that employs spaced-repetition.
When you can manage basic conversations, you’ll gradually transition to being immersed in Korean-spoken tutorials where you’ll learn to express yourself in Korean. In other words, the frequency of use of English will grow less as Korean will be the primary language through which we will learn.

Each lesson will go forward in three phases:
1. Review on what you learned in the past tutorial in the form of a short quiz to get you in the habit of recalling information and, thus, make it stick
2. Acquisition of new information with the use of real life dialogues during the present tutorial
3. Yet another recall of what’s been covered near the end of the session

I’ve served many people who look to enjoy exposure to novel and meaningful experience through learning Korean. I've been fortunate to come across students of all walks of life in the last four years, served them as a cultural bridge, and along the way got to know who I now call friends.

These are the types of students I've helped to achieve their goals:

1. Students who are planning to travel to Korea
2. Students who are curious about Korean culture
3. Students who aspire to get a job in Korea with the help of a TOPIK score
4. Students who study Korean as one of their subjects in high school
5. Students who are going to attend university lectures in Korea
6. Students who are of Korean heritage

Please book your trial lessons to see all the writing in action. I cannot wait to get to know you and be part of your learning journey.
